Having my first post on this weblog so late in the semester is not, I think, indicative of a slow start to this semester. It speaks to quite the contrary.

Spring 07 began so fast and now we are staring Spring Break in the face.Demosthenian has already accomplished our annual All Night Meeting and successfully conducted our second annual Demosthenian Classic High School Debate Tournament.

On the other side of Spring Break is the Intersociety Debate for which our stellar team is preparing. I have confidence that they will come out with a win this year.

We have only one meeting left before the break, so I hope to see everyone at the hall on Thursday.
Good luck on all your midterm papers and exams!

First I would like to thank everyone again for giving me the opportunity to serve you for this past semester as your president. Elections went really well last night and we finished right around 1:30 am, a record compared to previous semesters (in a good way). Below are the results of the elections. I wish all of the new officers luck and will be turning this weblog over to the new president as soon as I show him how to update it.

-Josh D. Weiss (Fall 06' President)

Vice President: Stephanie Buhlig

Hey everyone,

The semester is coming to a close with elections next week, and then our final meeting of the semester the week after Thanksgiving. Just as general notice, we need everyone to be at elections so please do your best to be there.

Over the past few weeks we've had 4 new members join: Shelly Roberts, Kevin Frisch, Sean Dolan, and Todd Garcia. I look forward to seeing you all get involved over the next few semesters.

Hey everyone,

I'm glad almost everyone was able to make it out to the intersociety meeting this past week. Also, I'd like to welcome our newest member, Tawny Waltz, to the society. That puts us up to 15 new members this semester and we are only a little over half way through!

Next week anyone who joined in november of 2005 or later will be gaurding pumpkins. Expect some messages on the list-serve about this.

This week's and last week's meetings went really well I thought.

Last week was the Hat Debate and 37 people (members and guests) took part this year. We also welcomed Rory Weeks into the society.

This week we welcomed four new members: Kim Moxley, Peter Shoun, Kevin O'Brien, and Zachary Vaudo. We also had three strong resolutions to go with it.

Next week is the Intersociety Meeting, so dress nice.
